Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

Hey my name is Meeka. Can I just say I am ready to see that life can get better then this. I had a family and was really thinking that all was good and then they up and moved leaving me behind to fend for myself. After awhile (I heard my foster mommy say a month whatever that means) the next family rescued me from the abandoned house only to take me in with some german 'siblings' that were not so nice. That was when I came to live with my foster family. Don't get me wrong the foster family is great and they have foster siblings both canine and feline that are great but it just is not a family to call my own. I am opening up to toys and playing. I have not convinced the felines that I can play really nice yet but I am persisant. I don't like all these changes though so I need someone who can be firm yet understanding in getting me to adjust to yet another home :( Please give my foster mommy a shout if you think you fit the bill! Oh and by the way can I say that fenced in yards to race with my foster sister and stretch my legs is great!!!
6/2/11 - Hello everyone just thought I would update you on my progress in the foster home. I have continued to befriend the foster cats in the home. My foster mommy and daddy are really trying to keep me away though. Foster mommy says I am obsessed and that I really need to stop whining at the cats as it is no helpping my case. I promise I dont want to hurt the kittys just get them to play with me. You know how it is when someone says you cant have something it just makes you want it more. Foster mommy is really trying to work with me on my anxiety and nervousness and states I am a work in progress. Well gotta go check out where those cats went now. Catch ya on the flip side.
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
