Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

HELLOOOOOO!!!! HERE I AM! My name is Oliver and I am ALL BOY! I love to romp and wrestle with my foster brother and chase my feline foster sister. If my new home has siblings it would be best if they are young and sturdy enough to tolerate my enthusiasm. I am a Shih-tzu mix but we're not sure what I am mixed with. My foster mommy says I am far too handsome to be called a mutt and that my boyish good looks and curly tail make me look like an overgrown pup! My foster daddy says that I must be a Shih-tzu mixed with bear since I am so snuggly. I love hugs and will try to climb up as close to you as I can get. I love being nose to nose and giving sloppy puppy kisses. I am great for snuggling with my soft coat and big brown eyes. I am learning all sorts of fun new things in my foster home. I love going for walks with my foster brother and getting yummy treats for being good boys when we come in. I love chewing rawhides and my foster brother is teaching me how to sleep in a den (crate). Not sure what I think of kiddos yet because we haven't met any in the neighborhood yet. Will update more as I explore my new surroundings. If you'd like to meet me please complete an adoption application.
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

PLEASE BE AWARE: Adoption questions are not website questions! If you have questions about adoption or a specific dog, fill out an Adoption Application and the dog's foster will get in touch with you.
