Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

Hi! My name is Archie! If you are interested in a playful pup, who wants to please, I'm your man! I like everyone: men, women, kids, dogs, cats (showed no reaction when introduced to cats at a friend's house, so that looks good). But I also settle very quickly and love to chill by your side. I'm approximately 5 months old and am being fostered in a home with two other dogs and we are getting along nicely. I'm doing well with housebreaking, and I am crate trained and like to walk on my leash. I would really love to have my very own family.
Someone is going to be very lucky to get this mellow, fellow, full of love, very laid back for a young dog.( see his photos) He has gained lots of confidence while in foster care and loves to play. He understands the word NO- stops what he's doing when he hears it, and he sits on command. Archie is looking for a lifetime committment, so if you are interested, please fill out an application and his foster MOM will be in touch.
"Archie is a loving, medium-energy dog of several breeds, and is about a year and a half old. His favorite thing to do in his free time is to sit by your feet or next to you on the couch, relaxing and enjoying your company. He plays very well with all other animals and his favorite games are wrestling, chase, and playing with a laser pointer. He's great with children over 5 years old and loves to chase them around the house or yard. Archie does have some anxiety issues and is startled easily by loud noises, large trucks and flags, and he'd be best suited to go to a forever home where someone is able to be with him for the majority of the day. He's a wonderful lounge pet and loves nothing more than to just be with you!"
We are looking for a home with a large fenced in back yard for Archie to play in :-)

Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
