Lucky Bones needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)
When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.
The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)
Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

Do you have a yard with a 6-foot-high (or higher is good, too!) that isn't getting any use? I can make good use of that yard!! I LOVE to run around but have Tigger-like qualities in that I can jump and seemingly "bounce" right out of shorter fences. Not that I want to get away--I just haven't learned my own limits very well yet.

Want a running partner who will only APPRECIATE running with you--anywhere--anytime--or walking, if we must...Take a chance and find hidden treasure and great companionship in loveable little me!!

Look at these eyes!! How can you NOT just melt when you look into my eyes?? Behind them is a heart of GOLD and more love to give than you can imagine!

They named me "Lucky" because I was rescued just in the nick of time; I don't like to talk about my past because it is sad. The "Bones" part came from my not being fed and being so skinny you could see more of my skeleton than I like to show.
Now that I am safe and warm and well-fed in my foster home, I have put on a few pounds and the vet says I am healthy, but still need a little more weight on my bones.

My short fur is soft and shiny and I loooove having my coat brushed!! Any attention is good attention to me!!

Cats make me very anxious, so I am looking for a loving home where there are no cats, please. My foster brother says that his cats are really not the enemy, but they still bother me.

I will tell you when I need to use your outdoor facilities, as well as when I am hungry and occasionally bored, but as long as I am comfy and safe, I am a very happy little guy.

Won't you please give me a chance to love you and be your best friend FUR-ever??
Must have fenced yard.

Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.

A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
