Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

Well here is my story and I'm sticking to it. I was found in the middle of the road and was taken to the local clinic in WV. Everyone thought someone would be looking for me but they weren't :( I was so scared when they put me on a leash the last time I was on one someone was not very nice :( I didn't mind a harness as bad at least that felt like something was hugging me. I LOVED the playroom at the boarding facility!!! People came and played with me and other dogs played with me!! I love treats and I like to go for car rides but please understand I feel that I am a better driver than most people I have driven with so I prefer to sit on your lap and take charge hmmmm for some reason most humans fight me on that one and I am easily persuaded to sit on the other seat with a nice blanket or I absolutely LOVE a doggie car seat so I can look out the window!!!! I definitely think Snuggling is a priority and sleeping in bed a MUST! The nice Director lady who kept me for the afternoon promised me a fenced yard so I don't have to have a leash on all the time to play. SOOOO if you have a nice home, with a bed you will share and some toys and a fenced yard please fill out an application and I will be waiting to meet you and try out your lap!
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
