Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

9/30/2014 - There are so many words to describe Mulligan but the highest on the list is the word "loveable". Within 10 seconds of contact with a human he will roll over on his back and want his belly rubbed. And if no one rubs his belly, or they stop, he'll stay in that position until someone else comes along. :) He loves going to events because he just has to lay there and will be pampered all day. He's a snuggle muffin who just wants to enjoy life, lay in the sun, play with his brothers and be loved on. Mulligan is definitely the most laid back out of all the blind/deaf pups and is guaranteed to steal your heart!!!
Well once again humans messed up :( Because our humans didn't get our mommy and daddy fixed we are here and the bigger problem was that our parents were dapples so we are double dapples which causes birth defects :( We were all born without sight and not sure whether we hear or not that is still being evaluated. We don't deserve the cards we were dealt but we are happy, loving puppies and with the right owners we will have a wonderful life. We still feel hugs and kisses and we get around just fine :) We need fenced yards to keep us safe and another dog to be our seeing eyes :)
PLEASE ANSWER training question or the processing team will automatically delete your application. We want a clear statement of what your training plan will consist of for a blind/deaf pup.
3/15/2014 Update - This pup officially has a name, Mulligan! Just like in golf, Mulligan is being given another shot at a fantastic life! He's a fairly mello little fella who likes to cuddle. Currently he is the one that wakes up during the night and needs some snuggle time. But once he's had his numerous play times and snuggle times in, he sleeps like a baby. Don't let the cuteness mislead you, he can get into trouble with the best of them.
More about Mulligan
Good with Dogs, Good with Kids, Needs special care
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
