Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!
About Rebel

Adoption Fee: 500.00
Species: Dog
General Color: White with Black
Current Age: 9 Years 7 Months (best estimate)
Hi! My name is Rebel, and I'm a four-month old black and white Chihuahua/terrier mix puppy looking for my furrever home! In some of my pictures, I'm with my brother and sister, Scout and Violet, who are also looking for homes. Wanna know a cool fact?? I was just reading the other day that us chihuahuas are one of the longest-lived dog breeds...so because I'm still just a pup, that means years and years of fun to come for the lucky family that decides to adopt me!
As you can see in some of my pics, I have crinkly whiskers...aren't they cute?! I think they make me unique, because neither my brother or sister have them. I also have ears that are always changing - for a few weeks they were both upright, but right now they're folded. I don't know why they do that, but the vet said that is what chihuahua ears do, so I'm going with it.
Anyway, a little more about who I am...I am an outgoing, smart guy who actually isn't much of a Rebel at all - sure, I'm confident and love exploring new places...but I love to give my human friends lots of licks and kisses all over their face just as much! I really like curling up on a nice, warm lap for a puppy nap whenever I get the chance. When the humans are busy and can't hold me, I love chasing my brother and sister around (they chase me too, which is OK!), as well as chasing the laser pointer...I have yet to catch that red dot, but I'm getting closer and closer every day. There is nothing shy about me, and I crave attention and pets from people - kids, grown-ups, who ever - and always come running when the humans call. I've been around some cats, too; they are interesting creatures, but hard to get to know...so I just kind of watch and sniff from a distance when they're around. I also just started walking on a leash, and do a really good job trotting along next to the humans. So, if you're looking for a smart, super friendly, people-pleasing pup, I'm your guy - I'd love to meet you!
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
