Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!
About Zoe

General Color: White
Current Age: 20 Years (best estimate)
Housetrained: Yes
Hi,
My name is Zoe and I have to look for a new home. Can you help me? My current Mommy and Daddy are getting a Divorce and they can't take care of me on their own. So they want to do the smart and responsible thing and find a good home for me where someone will love and take care of me just as much as they have for the last 5 years. I'm all caught up on my shots and have a clean bill of health from my Doctor.
I love to play with humans, cats and other dogs. I like to go for walks around the neighborhood, at the park and in the woods. I'm pretty smart too, I can do all sorts of tricks if properly motivated (I love treats). I have lots of fun playing with other dogs at the doggie park and I get along well with cats too! I live with three of them right now and we're all buds.
I'm really good at guarding the house and I'm very gentle with kids. Even though I look kind of funny, I'm really very sweet. I am a mix of Corgie and Australian Cattle Dog so I love to try and herd things that are smaller than me to where I think they should be. I've even helped my current Mom and Dad get one of the cats back in the house when he slipped outside; they really appreciated that!
Oh, I should also mention that I am about 80% albino, my vet calls it Leucistic, or something like that. My nose and ears are pink and my eyes are a clear blue most of the time. They go very well with my white/dirty blond coat of hair and everyone is always talking about how unique I look when we're out. I have one of those special chips to tell people who I belong to if I should ever get lost and I have a lifetime dog License for Lancaster City too. Please fill out an adoption application at www.2ndChance4LifeRescue.org
More about Zoe
Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

PLEASE BE AWARE: Adoption questions are not website questions! If you have questions about adoption or a specific dog, fill out an Adoption Application and the dog's foster will get in touch with you.
