Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

BooBoo is a gentle giant. He loves to be a part of what is going on, a true member of the family. Fetch is his favorite game and he will play forever. BooBoo does good on the leash and enjoys his walks. He is housetrained and will let you know when he needs to go out. BooBoo has a cute wimper to him when he wants attention. He would love a home where he could sleep in bed or at least at bedside. BooBoo does like other dogs but loves attention. Just looking for a home to call his own. Please fill out an application if you would love to meet this beautiful guy.
From another foster:
I had the wonderful opportunity to dog sit for this boy for 10 days. I can't say enough good things about him! He was sweet and gentle, cuddled in bed, and was by my side awaiting a petting. I would definitely call this boy docile because he is so gentle and loving. He even settled down the 4 resident dogs, one of which is a bit aggressive towards strange dogs and she absolutely loved Boo Boo! He was vocal with my cats when he finally saw one, but after one voice correction, he stopped his attention and the cats even hung out with him in the kitchen while he ate. Just a total sweetheart of a big baby! Oh, and he is seriously a lap dog! I took him to work with me every day and he would put his paws on my shoulder, hoist his back paws onto my lap, rest his head on top of mine and fall right asleep! A gentle giant is the best way to describe him. Such a wonderful temperment. He needs a home where he will get direction and lots of love and praise. He listens very well to a firm voice and strong leader....with that he will be the most devoted dog you will ever be owned by! LOL
If you are looking for a reliable, loving, best friend to look at you with utter amazement ~ this is your boy!!!
10/25/2011 - BooBoo has an ACL tear. It is a partial tear and xrays are being done next week. Our vet says with BooBoo's size and age surgery would not be in his best interest and if given total rest for 1-2 months BooBoo will be fine. Please consider giving BooBoo a quiet home to rest his head.
More about Boo-Boo
Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
