Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!
Dear Santa! I have really been trying to be a good boy! You see it's hard because I came from being the "Alfa" in the house (just me and my 80 year old mom and me) to just being "Alf" now! I really do like to run and play with my foster friends but would like to be in a home all by myself with my human friends. I kinda like it that way, all the attention! And kids I'm not to fond of. I do get along with them but I've had some hurt me and I just don't trust those little things! I would love to be someone's stocking stuffer! Oh yea I can fit in one of those for Christmas morning! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SANTA Hear my prayers for my forever home! Loves and Ruffs! Your cuddly bugger ALf!
My name is Alf. I am just a fluffy little love bug! My mommy was a senior citizen and became very sick. They came and took her to a home where I could not go :-( Her family dropped me off at the high kill shelter. I was SOOOO scared!!! Now I'm in a new home, my foster home and I really like sitting on my foster mommy's lap. I'm learning really quick what the grass outside is for! I love going out and feeling the grass, my other mommy didn't take me out. Maybe she couldn't :-( I would really like a home where I could go on walks and keep going outside! I'm not quite potty trained but my foster mommy says I'm learning quick. I love to entertain you by clearing the couch of all the pillows, hiding in the blankets and I even try to talk to you! I love to sleep in my foster mommy and daddy's bed. I snuggle right up beside you just like a teddy bear! Momma says I'm such a pretty boy and that my hair looks like spun gold in the sunlight. I am an Alfa dog, mom keeps telling me I don't have an "A" at the end of my name! Please check me out and see how good a boy I am! Ruff Ruff!!!
2nd Chance sooooooo needs foster families so that more wonderful, loving dogs can be saved from taking their last breath won't you please consider opening your heart and home to just one furry one at a time????? PLEASE fill our a foster application we promise you won't regret it!
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
