Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!
Harry's update ~ I have never met a more laid back, loving dog! Harry loves to play with toys and does not destroy them, just plays, with his tail waggin'! He follows the other dogs by hearing their tags jingle because he is totally blind. That is the reason he has to go to a forever home that is 1 floor. Harry and steps are not a good combo. He runs around in the yard chasing our pug and is sooo funny just having fun! He deserves a special family that will love him forever and ever. I will def. miss this little guy when he finds his forever home! He holds a special place in our hearts!
Harry's beginning at 2nd Chance ~ Hi! I'm Harry and I have lived my whole life in a cage with my sister. I heard my foster mommy telling someone that we came from a hoarder situation in horrible conditions, whatever that is. My sister was adopted but they didn't have room for me. I don't know what to do without her :( I am so glad that my foster mommy has me and is taking so much time to care for and love me. I can not see at all but I get around just fine. She is so nice to take me outside. I never knew what a leash was but I am doing great I've been told. I follow your voice where ever you go. I am a super sweet little thing. I heard someone say "I'm a little skeleton with hair on me, so sad . . ." but I think I will gain some weight now that someone loves me enough to feed me. I was eating stones because noone was feeding us before! I just want to lay around, be fed and be loved . . . You won't even know I'm around, I'm soooo quiet! I found some toys at my new home and started playing with them. They are a lot of fun! My mommy had tears in her eyes when she saw me playing with them. She was just so happy for me! If you want someone to play fetch with you I'm not the one but please check me out if you could use someone to keep you company!
Hey there Santa!
I've been told that you listen to wishes of little ones! I hope that includes 4 legged ones too! I would really like to find my forever and ever home where someone loves me as much as my foster mommy and daddy do. They say I'm a really good boy and I am learning that I can go where ever I please. My crate is always there for me to go into but they never shut the door! I love the feel of laying on the carpet and puppy beds that are all around but sometimes out of habit I do go and lay in my crate. Some habits are hard to break when you live in one of those all of your life! I go outside to pee but need led by a leash but that's no biggie because all the other pups have to be on a leash also! So I'm not so different after all! It would be nice to see but I can't ask you for that because we just found out from the opti Dr. that my sight cannot be brought back but that's OK I understand, I'm just enjoying having a life now! Hopefully soon with my forever family!
Woofs and Wags!
Harry!
Oh yea those squeeky things are fun to play with! I never knew what a toy was!
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

PLEASE BE AWARE: Adoption questions are not website questions! If you have questions about adoption or a specific dog, fill out an Adoption Application and the dog's foster will get in touch with you.
