Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

UPDATE 1/13/2013: Banner continues to do very well. He is such a joy to have around. He is completely house trained (he sure does let you know when he must go potty!!!LOL) and is a very well behaved little guy. He will require a home that does not have small children because he is very particular on how you pick him up. He also requires daily cleaning of his eyes and the hair around his eyes MUST be kept trimmed. This is done every 1-2 weeks. He loves to gives tons of kisses and is such a good boy to have around!
UPDATE 6-12-12 WOW! Banner is doing soooo well! His eyes are back to normal and he is enjoying life again! He had also had numerous benign lumps removed all over his body and he had 6 teeth removed. His breath was so bad when he came it was very difficult to enjoy his kisses. Now he kisses his foster mommy all of the time and she loves it! He is house trained and is a joy to have around. He never barks and he loves to sit beside you on the sofa. Banner is looking for his forever home and someone to take excellent care of him so he never has to have any discomfort again.
4-21-12 Poor Banner is in bad shape. His owners never kept the hair out of his eyes and they are sore from the irratation. He needs drops in them for infection. His hair was so matted he needed to be shaved. He also has lumps on him that the vet will look at and determine what course to take to getting this little guy feeling better. People can be so mean! Please help show him that not all 2 legged are so uncaring. His foster mommy loves him and is trying to help him adjust to all the love and hugs he has never had before!
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
