Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

Hello to all my possible friends out there. Surely you know who I am as I am to be the center of everyone's attention but just in case you don't know me my name is Abby. I have not had the easiest of lives let me tell you but I have made some great friends along the way who have helped to make up for the rough start in life. You see I was born with two bum hind legs. For that reason I did not really get a puppyhood! There have been so many nice people who stepped up to get me all the surgeries I needed. Due to their hard work and efforts I am now trying to make up for that puppyhood I lost. I have a lot of energy to expel. For that reason my first mother says I need a fenced yard to get rid of some of that energy. You know how they say idle minds are the devils handy work well yep I am the poster child for that. You don't give me my time to be out in the yard sniffing and getting that energy out I will find things in the house to investigate that you just might not think are mine. Need I go back and say though that I am the center of everyone's attention and therefore everything I am entitled to. Brain stimulating toys have also been quick to catch my eye or there is always the idea of just taking me with you instead of leaving without me. Cars are a wonderful thing and I love to ride in them. So don't you want to apply to be by forever family and let me be the center of your world?! Please let my agent who just happens to be my foster mommy know by putting in an adoption application.
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
