Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

8/20/14 Update My foster mom had me at the vet for my immunizations and I am down 9lbs! I started out at 112lbs and I am now 103lbs. When I started exercising I could only go 2 blocks and now I am walking 1 mile! I love being out on the trail-there are so many things to see and sniff! Nick is a wonderful dog-he is loving, sweet, and smart.
Hello Everyone! I'm Nick and I have been on the most amazing journey. My old place was a shed with 3 other dogs, no windows, heat, or AC but now I am in a home and loving life. I enjoy lazy days on the sofa but when it's time to walk I'm up and ready to go! I really need someone to help me get these pesky extra pounds off so I can live a long and healthy life. My foster lab sister showed me how much fun tennis balls can be and I cannot get enough-especially ones that squeak! I play nice with my toys and will destroy anything that has fluffy insides. I have never chewed one thing that belonged to my foster mother. My foster mom calls me a big tub of love because I haven't met anyone I didn't like-humans or dogs. She also says that I am really smart-I have learned so many things in the past few weeks like going up and down stairs, playing with toys, going to my crate without too much fuss, and using the outside facilities. I cannot wait to find my furever home with a human to call my own.
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
