Hi, everyone! My name is Max, and simply put, I am an AWESOME dog. My foster parents keep saying that I am going to make some family very, very happy. :) Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm not sure why, but I found myself on "death row" (whatever that is) at a high-kill shelter in North Carolina. My foster mom saw my picture and pledged $15 towards a rescue saving me. Another friend saw her post and asked my now foster mom if she'd be willing to foster me. Even though she already had a foster dog at that moment, she said yes, because she knew what was going to happen if she said no (my euthanasia date was that day). I went into temporary foster down in NC, and two weeks later, I arrived with my foster parents. Fast foward to now, and I have a great life! I am happy, healthy, and so much fun. I always have a silly smile on my face, and I love nothing more than cuddling. That said, I do have a lot of energy-- I'm not a couch potato kind of dog unless I've had some good exercise. I am a puppy, so training would be great, but I am super smart. I am currently crate trained and am quiet when I'm in my crate. I'm also only 28 pounds-- my pictures make me look much bigger than I actually am in real life. ;) Does it sound like we could be best friends?! YES?! We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.
